Survey results from the Orange County Health Needs Assessment (OCHNA) were published in the spring of 2005, detailing aspects of general health and health-seeking behavior in Orange County (California) residents. This book analyzes the data collected by the OCHNA, along with data collected by the author on sexual risk-taking and health-seeking behavior, in an attempt to determine whether or not sexually risky behavior in adults has any relation to satisfaction with and/or access to health care. This work will be especially useful to anthropologists, medical professionals, or anyone else interested in health data analysis. What was missing from this dataset, however, was detailed information on sexual behavior. The collection and analysis of data on ethnicity, insurance status, and income level can help determine to what extent these factors should be considered when evaluating frequency of medical visits. For example, is a sexually active woman who is dissatisfied with her health care provider less likely to seek regular reproductive health care (e. g. , regular Pap smears, STD testing, birth control prescriptions), leaving her more likely to practice risky sexual behavior?

Oral Health of Indigenous People of Challhuahuacho-Apurimac, Peru. Oral Health Seeking Behaviour and Oral Health Programme
Therefore, the purpose of this work is to analyse the oral health seeking behavior of Quechua indigenous people and oral health programmes carried out in indigenous population around the world and in other communities with similar background in order to make recommendations for a sustainable oral health programme for Quechua communities to improve their oral health status and to increase access to oral health services. The Andersen' s behavioural model modified by the International Collaborative study for oral health outcomes and by the author of this work is used. Each oral health programme is also analysed using the criteria to assess the quality of oral health strategies stipulated by WHO. This text should be useful to Oral Health Professionals and Researchers in the area willing to study Health in Indigenous communities and to propose strategies to overcome the burden of dental diseases in the target group. Quechua indigenous people of Challhuahuacho- Apurimac, Peru, seem to have worse oral health (dental caries and periodontal diseases) and less access to dental care facilities than the general population in the country.

Following the literature review is a secondary data analysis of the California Women' s Health Survey focused on acculturation and physical activity, providing some insight as to how behaviors change with assimilation to U. This dissertation is composed of five chapters describing various aspects of health-related behaviors of this growing population. After the general overview, a literature review describes past findings and areas of interest related to nutritional and physical activity habits of Spanish-speakers in the U. S. A pertinent discussion of questionnaire design and psychometric properties is also included here.
