Введение в структурную вампирологию

Впервые Лугоши начал играть вампира на американской театральной сцене в 1927 году, как раз тогда, когда Тодд Браунинг снял первый полнометражный звуковой фильм на вампирскую тематику - "Лондон после полуночи" (в главной роли Лон Чейни). Он же сняли и американскую киноверсию Дракулы с "настоящим трансильванцем" в главной роли. Картина вышла на экраны в 1931 Изображение Лугоши было настолько эффективно, что он так и не вырвался из этого амплуа и остался в истории кино как актер игравший вампиров, лишь иногда перемежая их ролями безумных ученых. ("Plan 9 From Outer Space" 1959 - его последний фильм). В 1932 вышел кинофильм "Vampyr", представленный Карлом Теодором Дрейером, который был посвящен не Дракуле, а Кармилле, в 1936 Universal Pictures выпустила "Дочь Дракулы". В 1943 вышли "Возвращение вампира" Л. Лендерса и "Сын Дракулы" от тех же Universal Pictures с Лоном Чейни-младшим в главной роли. В 1944 - "Ужас Дракулы" с Джоном Каррадином. До конца Второй мировой войны образ вампира в европейской культуре был достаточно статичен и варьировался от произведения к произведения в рамках ограниченного набора черт В это время определенного упадка романтической тенденции вампирская тема тоже стала сказочно-попсовой и существовала преимущественно в комиксах или дешевых кино- и телепродукции ...»
