Finally, Rome I, a Regulation proposed by the European Commission to replace the Rome Convention 1980, will be examined in order to locate the positive and/or negative aspects of such an attempt, as well as the contribution that this development could bring about to the promotion of the integration of the Internal Market. This dissertation aims at offering a comparative study of the Rome Convention 1980 on the law applicable to contracts and the US law regarding the limits to the doctrine of freedom of choice of law by the parties. Particularly, the specific limits set by the mandatory rules of article 7 of the Rome Convention 1980, as well as those set by the public policy of the forum in article 16 will be analyzed and compared to the relevant provisions of the US law entailed in paragraphs 187(2) (b) of the Restatement Second and 1-105 of the Uniform Commercial Code.

Regionalisation in the Black Sea Region: a comparative analysis. A comparative analysis of regionalisation at the borders of the EU
While the Nordic region is addressed as a model of multi-level, locally driven cooperation, the Mediterranean region is embedded in the North- South developmental division approach with little cooperation and strong external influences. The Black Sea' s position is debated between the two models mentioned above. Thus, I propose a comparative analysis of these three cases aiming to trace down the similarities and differences between them with the focus on the Black Sea Region. The conclusion of the study places the Black Sea Region in between the cases with a genuine potential to follow the Nordic model but with its future evolution hanging on the EU' s policies toward the area.

Costs of In-Situ Conservation of Arabica Coffee in Montane Rainforest of Ethiopia. Comparative Analysis at Household and Implementing Institution Level
This study presents an empirical comparative analysis of costs incurred at local households and implementing institutions level under collaborative and strict in situ conservation strategies. Households' socio-economic characteristics that explain participation in the strategies and costs of conservation are discussed thoroughly. Finally, the study pinpoints policy options to mitigate these costs to enhance effectiveness Coffea arabica genetic resources conservation. High cost of the genetic resources conservation to stockholders is usually pointed out as main challenge to its sustainability. Besides, the country is an important potential gene source for coffee breeding programs since it is endowed with wide genetic diversity. Nonetheless, there is a continuing erosion of Coffea arabica genetic resources despite of the various conservation efforts carried out by governmental and non-governmental organizations to protect its natural home. Ethiopia is the origin of Coffea arabica, which is the most important agricultural commodity of the country, both economically and socially.
